Saucha translates to “cleanliness”. However, it does not just mean physical cleanliness. This yogic principle refers to maintaining a clean inner and outer body.

When you factor cleanliness into your daily life, you’ll notice major improvement in your spiritual and physical well-being. Not only does establishing a cleanliness routine keep you safe and healthy, it also ensures that you are comfortable. If a dirty environment is overwhelming, imagine what it feels like to have a dirty spirit.

Saucha prevents our aura from getting dirty by cleansing negativity. By washing away negativity, we allow the positivity to flourish, which improves our overall livelihood.

Keeping your aura clean

Saucha goes more than surface level, it’s about keeping your aura clean. By practicing daily washing habits, you will energize and clean your aura.

Candle gazing

You should wash your hands after using shared objects like laptops, door handles, or gym equipment. It is also important that you wash your hands before eating. This helps you remain hygienic and stay healthy.

Taking daily showers

Taking a shower every day isn’t just about staying clean, it helps you maintain a clean aura. People don’t recommend a long shower for no reason. In fact, a long shower cleanses your body of its bad energy so you can resume your day feeling refreshed. Therefore, if you’ve had an especially bad day, try hopping in the shower and spend time washing away the negative energy with an earth-based scrub.

They refrain from engaging in harmful gossip and value what others say.

Using neti

Many yogis practice the art of cleansing their nasal passages. By using neti, you can cleanse your nasal passages and rid them of impurities and blockages. Clean nasal passages lead to breathing easier, which can impact your pranayama and asana practices.
